It is 9am in Luxembourg-Ville. Your hotel checkout is at 11. Your flight home is at 6pm. You want to spend the day in Vianden or the Old Town — but not dragging two suitcases behind you. Or you are an expat just arrived for a new job, your flat is not ready until next week, and a suitcase mountain is piling up in a friend's spare room. Luggage storage in Luxembourg is more flexible than most travellers realise. Here is what your options actually are, and when door-to-door beats a station locker.
When you need luggage storage in Luxembourg
Almost every luggage-storage request in Luxembourg traces back to one of a few real situations:
- Late flight after early checkout. Hotel checkout at 11, flight at 18:00, and a free day in between.
- Early arrival before check-in. You land at noon and your Airbnb is not available until 16:00.
- Day trip from a longer stay. You are based in Luxembourg for a week but want to spend tomorrow in Trier, Brussels or Metz — without the suitcase.
- Expat arrival with no flat yet. The job started, the boxes arrived, the flat is not ready for two weeks.
- Business traveller doing a day-trip return. In and out of Lux Findel the same day, with no need to lug a roller bag through the city.
Quick lockers vs door-to-door storage — which actually fits your trip
There are two different things people mean when they say luggage storage. They solve different problems.
Locker / drop-off services (think Bounce, Stasher or station lockers): you walk a bag to a cafe or the station, pay per bag per day, and pick it up later the same day. Great if you have one or two bags, you are downtown anyway, and you only need a few hours. Less great if you are juggling multiple boxes, you are not near the city centre, or you need storage that runs over several days into weeks.
Door-to-door storage (what Storagelux does): we pick up from wherever you are — hotel, Airbnb, the apartment you are about to leave, the apartment you have not moved into yet — and we bring it back to wherever you want, on the day you specify. No haul to a locker, no time pressure, no per-bag fee.
Rule of thumb: under 24 hours and downtown → a locker is fine. Over a day, multiple items, or you want to start your day at the hotel and end it at the airport without a detour → door-to-door wins.

Storing suitcases and larger items — not just boxes
People sometimes assume "storage" means cardboard boxes only. It does not. Suitcases, wardrobe bags, sports equipment, ski gear and bicycles all fit our standard flow. If you are storing larger or unusual items, mention them on the booking form and we will quote separately if needed.
For expats arriving early
This is the request we get most often outside the tourist circuit. New job, accommodation between leases, an Airbnb that does not let you accumulate ten boxes. Storagelux collects from your temporary stay, holds your things while the permanent flat is sorted, and delivers when you have keys. Out-of-area pickups just outside the Luxembourg District (Belvaux, Sanem and similar) are available on request with a small surcharge — useful if your temporary stay is outside the city.
