Hard drives, SSDs, tapes, mobile phones and USBs are destroyed in your loading bay to ISO/IEC 21964 H-5 / T-3 / E-3 standard while witnessed by your team. Is on-site destruction GDPR-compliant?

Yes. On-site destruction is the strongest defence against the chain-of-custody risk that GDPR Articles 17 and 28 expose you to when data leaves your premises. Lëtzclean Data issues a destruction certificate that ties each asset (by serial number) to the destruction event, method, witness and timestamp.

What standards does Lëtzclean Data work to?

Destruction is carried out in compliance with ISO/IEC 21964, at P-4 to P-6 for paper and H-5, T-3 and E-3 for media, with the WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU for electronics, and with GDPR Articles 17 and 28. Information security and environmental practice follow ISO 27001 and ISO 14001. Lëtzclean Data does not hold certification against these standards. Every destruction is evidenced instead by a serial-numbered certificate issued on completion.

What media can be destroyed?

Hard drives (HDD), solid-state drives (SSD), backup tapes, mobile phones, USB drives, optical media and confidential paper documents. SSDs are crushed and shredded, because software wiping is not sufficient for SSDs due to wear-levelling.

How fast can you arrive?

We quote within 24 hours and schedule on-site destruction typically within 7 days, with same-day or next-day available for urgent compliance windows.

Do you provide a certificate of destruction?

Yes. Every destruction event is documented with a serial-numbered certificate listing each asset, the destruction method, time and location, and for on-site work the witnesses present. Issued on completion.

Can I drop items off at your office?

Yes, by appointment only. Our office at 42 rue de Hollerich, Luxembourg, is our headquarters and does not take walk-in visitors. Arrange a drop-off by email at info@ntera.lu or on WhatsApp at +352 621 460 722. The items are destroyed at our own facility, with a certificate of destruction on completion.

What is the difference between physical destruction and software wiping?

Software wiping is not sufficient for modern SSDs due to wear-levelling and over-provisioning: residual data routinely survives. Physical destruction (shredding or crushing to ISO/IEC 21964 H-5 / T-3 / E-3 standard) is the only method that guarantees the data is irretrievable, and is the standard required for GDPR-defensible disposal.

How does Lëtzclean Data destroy SSDs?

SSDs are crushed and shredded on-site at your premises in Luxembourg using a mobile destruction unit, witnessed by your team. The flash chips are fragmented to a particle size meeting ISO/IEC 21964 E-3, which makes data recovery impossible. A serial-numbered certificate of destruction is issued on completion.

Data destruction

Mobile shredding unit at your address. Laptops, desktop PCs and server cases are opened and their data-bearing units removed, then hard drives, SSDs, tapes, phones and USB sticks are destroyed to ISO/IEC 21964 (formerly DIN 66399) standard while you watch. Or we collect them, or you drop them off by appointment, and they are destroyed at our own facility, with optional video recording.

Confidential paper: files, ID cards, HR and client records, and archives that have reached the end of their retention period and need a partner to close them out properly.
